Thermoelectric Peltier coolers (TECs) are widely used for cooling down and thermal stabilization in great number of optoelectronic applications. TECs successfully compete with other methods of thermal management due to unique advantages: miniature design, reliability and long operation life time, no moving parts and others.
But there are other applications where a complex of features and advantages of thermoelectric modules is used.
Due to universal ability of both cooling down and heating up very quickly with precise thermal stabilization, thermoelectric cooling modules are core elements of optical dew-point sensors, calibration black bodies and others. Because of high temperature sensitivity due to the Seebeck effect, the thermoelectric cooling modules became sensitive elements of various temperature sensors and sensors of heat fluxes.
