TOSA
The compact TOSA, functionally equivalent to the Butterfly header, enables high-speed optical transmission in SFP, XFP and SFP+ modules, offering efficient integration and reliable thermal management. There are two TOSA designs available: a coaxial type (max. 5.6 mm diameter) and a box-like type standardized by a 2004 MSA for compatibility with 2.5 Gb/s and 10 Gb/s sources.
The header surface area, suitable for mounting both coaxial and box-like TOSAs, is typically 4.5 x 5.0 mm². Ferrotec-RMT specializes in miniature thermoelectric cooling solutions and provides a range of standard and customized TECs for cooled TOSA applications of both types - coaxial and XMD MSA TOSA.
