UPDATING OF RMT TEC’S DATASHEETS

Nov 15, 2019

RMT has updated TEC’s datasheets on website in connection with the launch of new higher figure-of-merit (Z) TE material in mass production, which allows to reduce TEC power consumption, and updated RMT TEC designation system.

Earlier we announced that new high Z series of TECs with improved TE materials are available for orders. However, at that time it was only new special series of TECs produced in limited quantities.

Now manufacturing technology of improved thermoelectric materials with higher Z was launched in mass production. Therefore, datasheets of standard TECs from RMT catalogue were updated taking into account using improved TE material Z2. TECs with new improved TE material allow to achieve deeper cooling (as seen by the increase of maximum temperature difference ΔTmax values) and reduced power consumption compared to TECs with previous TE material. All datasheets are presented for TEC applications at room temperatures (see Table below).

TE material

TECs description

Z1

TECs for low temperature applications (less than room temperature)

Z2

TECs for applications at room temperatures

Z3

TECs for high temperature applications (higher than room temperature)

If the customer requires TECs for applications in temperature ranges below or above room temperature, he must order Z1 or Z3 TECs respectively.

Moreover, now in all RMT TECs AlN ceramics is used by default in datasheets. In addition, RMT expands options of ceramics thickness. It is possible to use the following AlN ceramics thickness in TEC design: 0.1, 0.15, 0.25, 0.38, 0.5, 1.0 mm.

Standard TECs with improved parameters in accordance with new datasheets are available for orders. Please, contact RMT for selection of most optimal TEC solutions.
